asus eee pc 1000he 270x300 Truly Portable ComputingThe trend towards portable computing has been progressing ever more steadily towards the day where we have always available powerful computing. Until very recently a definitive tradeoff between portability and functionality has been required. You could go with a smartphone that provides true and always on portability but comes at a great cost to computing power and capability or you could elect to use a laptop which although powerful is still fairly large to lug around. As of late though there is a fairly good solution to this tradeoff in the form of Netbooks such as the Asus Eee PC which back some of power and functionality as a laptop at a fraction of the size.

A leading competitor in this space is the Asus EEE Pc 1000HE which features a fairly quick intel processor, lots of memory, a big hard drive, Bluetooth and wifi, and incredibly long battery life. This computer (Asus EEE Pc 1000HE) is incredibly easy to carry around and use in tight spaces given its incredibly small form factor and has incredible connectivity via the built in wifi capability. The one drawback compared to a normal laptop is that at 10-inches the screen is rather small but given the portability of this device it is a fair tradeoff to have to make. And the 10″ screen is easier to read at than the many 9″ models around from both the Asus Eee PC series as well as HP 2133 and Acer Aspire One, which faetures the same screen resolution (1024×600 pixels) in a smaller space. (Not to mention the 7″ Asus Eee Pc which has a lower screen resolution of 800×480 pixels.)
Overall Asus EEE Pc 1000HE seems to be the best solution available today for performance computing in a portable form factor at a low price.
