The Asus Eee pc that was brought out by Asus filled a very important niche in the computer market. The netbook they developed had near the portability of a smart phone as well as the low cost but it sported a screen that was bigger and more useful for the normal tasks of email and web browsing. The only complaint I heard from users was that the keyboard was a little small to type comfortably. Well, Asus has solved that problem with the new Asus  Eee PC Keyboard.

To visualize the Asus Eee PC Keyboard imagine taking a normal keyboard, moving all the keys to the left and installing a five inch touch screen and display in the space that is opened up. Not only that, but they mounted the entire computer with its 1.6 GHZ Atom processor, eight or sixteen GB solid state drive, memory, and I/O ports in the keyboard as well. Now whereever you can place a keyboard you can have a full computer at your fingertips.

When you want to see a bigger view you can connect an external monitor and use the built-in USB ports to add more storage or other peripherals, just like the original Eee pc. A network port is all models and wireless connectivity is built in to the more expensive model. All ready to sit in your lap as you lean back in that recliner.

Speaking of price, the new Eee PC Keyboard netbook is still priced attractively at $400 for the base model and $600 for the more fully featured style. After seeing the Asus Eee PC Keyboard I wonder what their next model will be? Maybe built into a hat for the ultimate portability? I can’t wait. :-)
