Asus Eee PC 701 Review
It is a wonder how when you are in the presence of a legend, and you don’t know yet that it is a legend, you feel that it is legendary. Asus created a legend with this small laptop – Eee PC 701 , which made it so much in the market it created a new category of computers in IT catalogues – the nettop or netbook pc. At the time of Eee PC 701’s appearance, it was the most affordable thing in it’s class, and it still is!
It is amazing how something that was reportedly designed for children and senior people has the power to make EVERYONE say the magic words, “I want one”. Asus Eee PC 701 : A laptop / netbook with 4GB of solid state disk, an OS that boots in less than 15 seconds, WiFi, a battery that keeps Eee PC 701 powered for 3.5 hours and a 800 x 480 7 inch display sounds cute even on paper, but you should see how it looks. The Eee PC 701 keyboard’s size is just enough to allow for typing without problems, and the Eee PC 701 webcam that is fused to it’s frame enables you to make video calls with Skype or just record videos of yourself reciting a poem to your loved one and send them to their e-mail. Eee PC 701 is easy, in every way. Easy to learn, easy to work with and easy to play with, just as Eee PC’s name says. Eee PC 701 is also lightweight, weighting under a kilo. And although not the speed champion, Eee PC 701’s processor can handle playing any kind of videos (not HD though!) and media without any hiccups. So there, Eee PC 701 is a perfect second computer for the house or first for those starting off in the computer world, now you know it exists you know you want it.
So to sum up: The Eee PC 701 is so cheap that it is worth every penny. Eee PC 701’s biggest disadvantage is the screen resolution, which is a step too small for many webpages. This might be fixed with browsers, that can zoom the pages down in size, but then again: The newest Asus Eee PC’s is easily double the price..
